This local newspaper covered the early Otago goldfields and the transition of the Maniototo from a goldmining to a farming community. It contains lots of social, economic and family history. It is also a title that is difficult to access, being held only in Dunedin and Wellington. The small size and brief run of years should make it feasible to digitise the complete run fairly easily.
